4041 Foundation
The 4041 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2025 by Kelly Gowe in memory of her mother, Laura Kowal—a victim of a romance scam whose tragic story fuels our mission. We raise awareness about the growing threat of romance scams and financial crimes through advocacy, education, and personal storytelling.
Our work spans public speaking, media outreach, and the development of impactful initiatives—including a national podcast investigating Laura’s case and exposing the wider epidemic. We bring our message to financial institutions, women’s organizations, and communities across the country.
Rooted in Laura’s legacy, we are committed to empowering victims, supporting families, pushing for safeguards, and relentlessly seeking justice—because awareness saves lives, and her story demands change.
